STATE - ISMTA Competitions
ISMTA Competitions begin at the district auditions for all levels except Collegiate Piano, which is only held at the state level. Illinois is divided into 5 districts with students competing in the district in which the teacher resides. Winners of each district at the Junior and Senior levels will advance to the ISMTA finals held in the fall at the annual ISMTA Conference. The district auditions are held in early-mid October. Click below to get more information on the ISMTA Competitions.
MTNA Competition and ISMTA Competition are separate competitions and are not connected in any way.
Students may not enter both the MTNA and ISMTA Competitions in the same category in the same year.
